After the chaos of 2017, psychics came forward en masse to give their predictions for the year to follow.

There seemed to be an unspoken collective agreement that 2018 would be bleaker than the tumultuous year which preceded it. Plagued by a peppering of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and assassinations of important figures, the predictions were a dramatic, fear-inducing nightmare. But most alarmingly was the prediction which came from renowned clairvoyant Craig Hamilton-Parker who claimed that “2 018 will see unprecedented earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and ferocious weather.” This prediction was particularly concerning given that Hamilton-Parker had correctly seen Trump’s victory and Britain’s decision to leave the EU. Whilst vague, the prediction became particularly chilling earlier this week when it was announced that Mount Mayon in the Philippines was erupting, inspiring thousands of locals to flee their homes for safety. Mount Mayon, a popular spot for adventurers with a savor for climbing, has erupted some 50 hours in the past 500 years, building it a relatively active volcano. But the fact that it’s latest eruption coincides with Hamilton-Parker’s predictions for 2018 is what constructs the news particularly scary. More than 34,000 people have left their homes after the volcano began to spit triggers ominously over their homes on Sunday 14 January. However, it could take days or even weeks for the molten mass to ultimately burst. For those with a tendency to be quite dramatic, this is far from a coincidence. Not merely that, but other extreme environmental events have reached 2018 already. Merely this week the eyelashes of people in Russia were turning into icicles as the cold weather rampaged through the country. Meanwhile, in Australia, the temperatures have been soaring to a record high. Hamilton-Parker also went on to predict that Prince Harry would get engaged- although, this happened in 2017 rather than 2018.

He claims that Germany and France will see political unrest which will cause riots in both countries. In a similarly sinister prediction, he believes a terrorist attack will occur on a British motorway and that there will be a chemical attack via dronings on a European city. On a positive note, he believes that Kim Jong-un’s regime will be overthrown in 2018, minimizing the world’s concern considering nuclear war. If Mount Mayon’s eruption is anything to go by, this year could be one of the most difficult on record if Hamilton-Parker’s predictions are anything to go by.
