Former FBI Director James Comey testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee about Trump and the Russia investigation on Thursday, which are his first public remarks since being unceremoniously fired last month.
To say that people have been anticipating this day would be an understatement, as it's being broadcast on every major network, is pretty much the only thing trending on social media, and people are packing barsand neighborhood hot spot to have Comey watching parties.
For those on Twitter minus a suspiciously silent President Trump it's like Christmas morning as a kid.
Here's what people are saying, with some actual quotes and news from the testimony( so far) hurl in for good measure.
” I was fired because of the Russia investigation … to change the style the Russia investigation was being conducted. That is a very big deal .”
A Titanic Endeavor
The administration then chose to malign me and more importantly the FBI by saying the organization was in disarray; that it was poorly resulted; and that the workforce had lost confidence in leader. Those were lies, plain and simple. And I am so sorry that the FBI workforce had to hear them and Im so sorry that the American people were told them.
Pee Tapes
” And it is now time my former colleagues, if I may, I am so sorry I didn't get the chance to say good bye-bye to you properly. It was the honor of my life to serve beside you, to be part of the FBI family and I will miss it for the rest of my life. Thank you for standing watch, thank you for doing so much good for this country. Do that good as long as ever you can .”
The Whole Truth
Trump said Comey was doing a bad chore and was a “nutjob.”
Lordy, Lordy
In reality, Comey wrote detailed memoes of his interactions with Trump, which didn't present thepresident in a good light.
