( CNN) Congressional researchers are running into new challenges with their Russia probes, facing a mountain of records to sift through, doubts about the results they are chasing and partisan disagreement over whether there was any collusion between the Kremlin and Trump advisers.
In interviews with CNN, a number of House and Senate lawmakers said that they expect both panels' investigations to drag on well into the fall — and maybe even into 2018. And there is a high degree of skepticism over whether the two panels would eventually be able to reach any sort of bipartisan agreement on a central question: Did the Russians privately coordinate with Trump officials in an attempt to sway the elections?
“Everyone finds things through their partisan lens, ” one lawmaker said.
