BREAKING Obama Says Russia Did NOT Rig Electionfor Trump.
It would appear as though the liberal mediaand haters of President-elect Donald Trump will need to find a new avenue of attack withwhich to bash him, as the titular head of the Democrat Party just pulled the rug outfrom under their current narrative.
Speaking seriously in a serious-minded interviewwith that paragon of serious journalism, Trevor Noah of Comedy Centrals The Daily Show,President Barack Obama downplayed the allegations of Russian hacking of the 2016 presidentialelection to sway the results toward Trump.
We were frankly more concerned in the runup to the election to the possibilities of vote tampering, which we did not see evidenceof, Obama explained, according to Breitbart.
And were confident that we can guardagainst.
Though Obama did acknowledge some interferenceby hackers purportedly directed by Moscow, he also downplayed the effect of the hacksand questioned the medias focus on them.
Whats happened to our political systemwhere some emails that were hacked and released ended up being the overwhelming story, andthe constant source of coverage breathless coverage that was depicted as somehowdamning in all sorts of ways when the truth of the matter was it was fairly routine stuff?Obama remarked.
Obama also stated that the recent news reallyshould come as no surprise, as Russia has been trying to influence American electionssince the days of the Soviet Union, according to Vulture.
What is it about the state of our democracywhere the leaks of what were frankly not very interesting emails, that didnt have anyexplosive information in them, ended up being an obsession? Obama asked.
And the fact that the Russians were doingthis was not an obsession? As for the intelligence review he orderedregarding the allegations of Russian hacking, Obama stated that was mostly just to tie togetherall of the loose threads revealed in prior investigations, as his administrationhas been looking into the notion for the past several months.
When the DNC (Democrat National Committee)got hacked, we immediately assigned our intelligence community our law enforcement to investigatewhat had happened, explained Obama, according to The U.
And we determined and announced inOctober that it was the consensus of all the intelligence agencies in law enforcement thatorganizations affiliated with Russian intelligence were responsible for the hacking of the DNCmaterials that were being leaked, he said.
That was a month before the election.
This was not a secret.
To be sure, Obama didnt let Russia offthe hook for supposedly hacking the DNC or political operatives, though he also didntoffer any sort of concrete evidence.
He was also sure to take a shot at Trump byrecalling his joke that Russia should search for the deleted emails of failed Democratpresidential nominee Hillary Clinton, since the American media seemingly had no interestin finding them.
Nevertheless, the media narrative that Russiahacked the election and somehow stole it from Clinton on Trumps behalf has pretty muchbeen run into the ground without a shred of evidence.
